Wisbech Society will display plans for its Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) supported chapel restoration project, while the Friends will have the cemetery records to hand. Friends’ chairwoman Sue Beel will lead a guided tour of the cemetery from 2pm.

Progress Report on the Wisbech General Cemetery Project

Work on site commenced as scheduled with the careful uplifting to storage of the original sandstone slabs and tiles, 170 years since they were laid.

War Graves at Wisbech General Cemetery

To celebrate the installation by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission of 10 headstones marking the graves of 9 WW1 soldiers and 1 WW2 airman, an event was organised on the 13th November 2018 at the General Cemetery.

The newly completed Chapel restoration allowed the Chapel to host over 60 people for refreshments afterwards.
